Ethiopian arrested in attempted smuggling of 65,685 pills, 60kg of hashish

According to the Saudi Gazette, security forces in the Al-Ardah sector of the Jazan region have successfully intercepted a significant smuggling attempt. An Ethiopian national was taken into custody after being caught attempting to transport 65,685 prescription pills and 60 kilograms of hashish across the border.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect has been processed through initial legal channels and has been transferred to the appropriate judicial authorities for further investigation. The seizure highlights ongoing efforts by the Saudi Border Guard to curb the illicit trafficking of narcotics into the Kingdom.

In the wake of the arrest, security officials have reiterated their call for public cooperation in identifying drug distribution networks. Citizens and residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities through established channels, including the 911 emergency line in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or the 994 line specifically designated for the Border Guard. Officials emphasized that all reports are handled with strict confidentiality to ensure the safety of those providing information.
