Islamic Military Coalition, Türkiye discuss enhancing counter-terrorism cooperation

According to the Saudi Gazette, the Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi, held a formal meeting with the Turkish Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Emrullah Isler, at the coalition's headquarters in Riyadh on Monday. The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the IMCTC and Türkiye to address shared security challenges.

During the session, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi provided an overview of the coalition’s ongoing strategic initiatives. These programs are structured across four primary pillars: ideology, media, counter-terrorist financing, and military operations. Both officials emphasized the necessity of deepening international partnerships to effectively disrupt the ideological and financial networks that support terrorist organizations globally.

The two parties also highlighted the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement as a pivotal framework for enhancing collective security efforts. By aligning their strategies, the IMCTC and Turkish representatives aim to improve coordination in combating extremism and promoting regional stability. This meeting marks a continued effort by the Riyadh-based coalition to engage with international partners in its mission to counter terrorism.
