King extends Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal’s tenure for 4 years

According to the Saudi Gazette, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has issued a royal decree extending the tenure of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal as the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Emir of the Makkah region. The extension confirms his continued leadership in the province for an additional four-year term.

Prince Khaled Al-Faisal has held the position of Emir of Makkah since 2015, following a previous tenure in the same role from 2007 to 2013. His extensive career in public service includes a period as the Saudi Minister of Education between 2013 and 2015, as well as a long-standing role as the Emir of the Asir region, which he held for 36 years from 1971 to 2007.

This appointment maintains stability in the administration of the Makkah region, which holds significant importance due to its status as the site of the holy city of Makkah. The extension of his service is part of the ongoing administrative oversight managed by the Saudi royal leadership.
