Kuwait Authorities Raid Warehouse, Seize 1,430 Refurbished Used Tires Prepared for Sale

According to the Arab Times Kuwait, local authorities in Kuwait City conducted a raid on a warehouse facility on August 6, resulting in the seizure of 1,430 used tires. Officials reported that the items were being cleaned, refurbished, and repackaged with the intent of being sold to unsuspecting consumers as new or roadworthy products.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by Kuwaiti municipal and commerce authorities to crack down on the sale of substandard automotive parts that pose significant safety risks to the public. The use of refurbished tires, particularly in the extreme heat conditions of the Gulf region, is a major concern for traffic safety officials, as such products are prone to blowouts and structural failure.

Authorities have stated that the seized inventory has been confiscated and that legal proceedings against the warehouse operators are currently underway. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry continues to urge consumers to purchase automotive supplies only from authorized dealers to ensure compliance with national safety standards and to avoid the risks associated with illicitly modified equipment.
