Kuwait Security Campaign Nets 46 Residency Violators, 38 Wanted Persons

According to the Arab Times Kuwait, the Capital Governorate Security Directorate has conducted a large-scale security operation resulting in the detention of 46 residency law violators and 38 individuals wanted by local authorities. The campaign, which took place on September 6, was executed under the direction of the Security Directorates Affairs Sector as part of ongoing efforts to maintain public order and enforce immigration regulations within the capital.

Security officials stated that the operation involved targeted sweeps across various areas within the governorate to identify individuals with expired residency permits or those who had absconded from their sponsors. In addition to the residency violators, the 38 wanted persons were apprehended for various legal infractions, including outstanding civil and criminal warrants. Those detained have been referred to the appropriate authorities for further legal processing and potential deportation.

These security campaigns are a recurring feature of Kuwait’s interior ministry strategy to regulate the expatriate labor market and address concerns regarding undocumented residents. The Ministry of Interior frequently coordinates such sweeps to ensure compliance with the country's residency laws, which mandate that all foreign nationals maintain valid legal status through their employers or sponsors.
