Makkah deputy emir reviews Umrah season, steps up Hajj 1448 preparations

Prince Saud bin Mishaal, Deputy Emir of the Makkah Region, recently chaired a session of the Permanent Hajj and Umrah Committee to evaluate the current Umrah season and initiate early planning for the Hajj 1448 AH season. The meeting was held under the directives of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Emir of the Makkah Region, reflecting the Kingdom's ongoing commitment to managing the logistics of the annual pilgrimage.

During the session, the committee reviewed comprehensive reports detailing the flow of pilgrims, including arrival and departure statistics, as well as the efficacy of services provided by various government agencies at the Kingdom's entry and exit points. The committee emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of service and ensuring seamless coordination between the numerous entities involved in the pilgrimage infrastructure.

In addition to reviewing current operations, the committee assessed the outcomes of recent workshops focused on early planning for Hajj 1448. These workshops involved representatives from 60 government and service entities tasked with supporting pilgrims. The primary objective of these sessions is to build upon the successes of previous years, refine operational strategies, and enhance the integration of services to ensure the safety and comfort of those performing the Hajj.
