According to a report by Asomiya Pratidin, residents, workers, and local organizations staged a protest on Tuesday in front of the Annapurna industry facility located in Monpur, within the Palashbari assembly constituency. The demonstrators voiced strong opposition against the company, alleging that the facility has been involved in the sale of expired soft drinks and other substandard products.

Protesters accused the company of relabeling expired beverage packets and selling them as fresh stock, labeling the practice as a severe health risk to the public. In addition to the food safety concerns, the demonstration also highlighted grievances regarding the non-payment of employee wages. The protesters demanded immediate intervention from authorities to address the alleged corruption and operational irregularities at the site.

This protest follows a history of complaints from local residents and workers regarding the facility, including reports of unpleasant odors and general mismanagement.
