NCM forecasts thunderstorms across Saudi Arabia through Wednesday

According to the Saudi National Center for Meteorology (NCM), residents across several regions of Saudi Arabia should prepare for thunderstorms of varying intensity through Wednesday, September 9. The advisory indicates that moderate to heavy rainfall is expected to impact the Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions, as well as the highlands of the Makkah region.

Meteorologists expect the most significant weather activity to occur on Monday and Tuesday. During this period, the heaviest rainfall is projected for parts of the Jazan and Asir regions, including numerous governorates such as Al-Raith, Haroub, Al-Dayer, Fifa, and Sabya. Moderate to heavy rain is also anticipated in the Jazan city area and the Farasan Islands during these two days.

In addition to the primary impact zones, the NCM forecasts light to moderate rainfall extending into the Najran region, as well as the southern portions of the Riyadh and Eastern regions. Authorities have advised residents in the affected areas to remain cautious and follow updates from official channels as the weather system moves through the Kingdom over the coming days.
