According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, severe monsoon weather has caused significant disruptions across multiple Indian states. In Odisha's Kendrapara district, 312 students and 10 teachers have been stranded for two days at a government residential school after the Brahmani River overflowed, submerging the ground floor of the facility. While the students have been relocated to the first floor and are reported to be safe with a week's supply of food, rescue operations have been hindered by strong currents that prevent boat access.

Simultaneously, heavy rainfall has impacted 20 cities across Uttar Pradesh, leading to widespread waterlogging in urban centers such as Lucknow, Varanasi, and Prayagraj. In Sambhal, hospital premises have been inundated, while reports indicate that over 500 homes in the Kanpur-Unnao region have been affected by rising floodwaters.

In Himachal Pradesh, the monsoon season has proven particularly deadly. Official data covering the period from June 30 to August 16 indicates that 187 people have lost their lives due to natural disasters and road accidents. Of these fatalities, 79 were attributed to landslides, flash floods, and other weather-related incidents, while 107 deaths occurred in road accidents. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as the region remains under threat from ongoing seasonal instability.
