According to reports from Dainik Bhaskar, authorities in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh have initiated emergency protocols as a cyclonic system moves toward the eastern coast of India. The weather system, currently tracking westward at approximately 12 kilometers per hour, is expected to make landfall near Kalingapatnam, situated between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur. Officials anticipate the storm will cross the coast as a deep depression, bringing heavy rainfall and high-velocity winds to the region.

In response to the impending weather event, the Odisha state government has ordered the closure of schools across seven districts and has canceled leave for government employees to ensure emergency readiness. Approximately 5,000 residents have been relocated to safer areas as a precautionary measure. District collectors across 11 districts have been instructed to maintain 24-hour control rooms and ensure that all disaster relief and rescue equipment is fully operational.

Neighboring Andhra Pradesh has also issued alerts for heavy rainfall and strong winds, with state authorities monitoring the situation closely. Additionally, parts of West Bengal, particularly the Darjeeling and Kalimpong regions, have been placed under a landslide warning due to the forecast of heavy precipitation. Residents in the affected coastal belts are advised to follow official updates as the system progresses.
