OIC Condemns Houthi Attacks on Makkah, Madinah

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has issued a formal statement condemning recent attacks attributed to the Houthi group targeting the Makkah and Madinah regions. According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the organization described the actions as heinous and a direct violation of the sanctity of the holy sites, while also denouncing the group's continued military aggression against Saudi Arabia.

The OIC, which represents 57 member states, has historically maintained a firm stance against threats to the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The statement emphasizes that such provocations undermine regional peace efforts and pose a significant risk to the safety of civilians and religious pilgrims. The organization called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and urged international actors to hold the responsible parties accountable for the escalation.

This condemnation follows a series of reports regarding increased regional tensions involving Houthi activities in the Arabian Peninsula. Saudi authorities have consistently reported the interception of drones and projectiles aimed at southern regions of the country, often citing these incidents as evidence of the group's disregard for international law.
