Rainfall expected to continue across Odisha over next 5 days

According to OTV, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a series of weather alerts for the state of Odisha, as the southwest monsoon continues to bring intensified rainfall to the region. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has cautioned that the state should expect widespread precipitation, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, over the coming five-day period.

For Sunday, the weather department has implemented a Yellow Warning across 23 districts. This alert serves as a precautionary measure for residents, highlighting the risk of moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated locations, alongside the potential for lightning strikes. Among the areas identified as being at higher risk for heavy rainfall are Bargarh, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, and Jajpur.

These weather patterns are part of an active monsoon cycle currently influencing the eastern coast of India. Local authorities typically advise residents in these districts to monitor updates from the IMD and to exercise caution during periods of heavy rain and electrical storms.
