ROP arrests three in Quriyat over attempted smuggling

According to the Times of Oman, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) Coast Guard Command has successfully apprehended three individuals of Asian nationality in the coastal wilayat of Quriyat. The suspects were taken into custody on a local beach while allegedly attempting to engage in smuggling activities.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to secure Oman’s extensive coastline and prevent illegal maritime activity. The ROP has intensified its monitoring of coastal areas to deter smuggling networks that attempt to exploit remote stretches of the beach for illicit trade.

Following their arrest, the individuals have been referred to the appropriate judicial authorities to face legal proceedings.
