Saudi Arabia Condemns Houthi Targeting of Civilian, Economic Sites in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued a formal condemnation regarding a series of coordinated attacks targeting civilian and economic infrastructure within its borders. According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the strikes impacted the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran. Official reports indicate that the incidents resulted in injuries to 73 civilians, including women and children.

In addition to the strikes on land, the Saudi government denounced the continued targeting of commercial vessels in the Red Sea. Riyadh characterized these actions as a direct threat to the freedom of international maritime navigation and a violation of regional security protocols. The Kingdom reiterated its stance that such hostilities against civilian sites and economic hubs are unacceptable under international law.

These developments occur amidst ongoing tensions in the region involving Houthi forces. The Saudi authorities have called for international attention to the threat posed to global shipping lanes, emphasizing that the safety of maritime corridors remains a critical priority for the stability of the region and the global economy.
