Saudi Arabia deports 10,827 illegal residents in a week

According to the Saudi Gazette, the Saudi Ministry of Interior has announced that security authorities arrested 14,440 individuals for violating residency, labor, and border security laws during the week of July 30 to August 5. The joint inspection campaigns, conducted in collaboration with various government agencies, resulted in the processing of thousands of cases involving foreign nationals residing or working in the Kingdom without proper authorization.

Of those apprehended, 7,090 were cited for Residency Law violations, 3,932 for Border Security Law violations, and 3,418 for Labor Law violations. The Ministry reported that 10,827 individuals were deported during this period. Additionally, 18,131 violators were referred to their respective diplomatic missions to facilitate the issuance of travel documents, while 6,357 were processed for travel reservations to complete their departure from the country.

The data also highlighted ongoing efforts to secure the Kingdom's borders. Authorities arrested 1,593 people attempting to enter the country illegally, with 40 percent identified as Yemeni nationals and 59 percent as Ethiopian nationals. A smaller number of individuals were detained while attempting to exit the Kingdom. These operations are part of a broader, sustained campaign by Saudi authorities to regulate the labor market and enforce strict border control measures.
