Saudi Arabia forecasts above-average October rainfall, hotter-than-normal temperatures through autumn

According to the Saudi Gazette, the National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has released its seasonal climate outlook for the Kingdom, projecting varying rainfall patterns and above-normal temperatures through October 2026. The forecast indicates that while August will see below-average rainfall in several regions, including Makkah, Madinah, and the Eastern Province, precipitation is expected to increase significantly as the autumn season progresses.

In September, the NCM anticipates above-average rainfall for a wide swath of the country, specifically targeting Tabuk, Madinah, Al-Baha, and parts of the Makkah and Qassim regions. By October, the center expects this trend to broaden, with most regions across the Kingdom likely to experience above-average rainfall, while the Eastern Province and Najran are projected to see near-average precipitation levels.

Alongside the rainfall projections, the NCM has warned that temperatures are expected to remain above seasonal norms throughout the period. These meteorological updates are part of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to provide citizens and residents with accurate climate data to assist in planning and safety preparations.
