Saudi Arabia ranks among G20's fastest for mobile internet speeds

According to the Saudi Gazette, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has released its fifth annual Saudi Internet report, highlighting significant advancements in the Kingdom's digital infrastructure. The report indicates that average mobile internet speeds in Saudi Arabia have risen to 216 Mbps, up from 203 Mbps in the previous year. This growth secures the Kingdom's position among the top five G20 nations in terms of mobile internet performance.

The data, which incorporates analysis from Ookla, further details the robust usage patterns within the country. The average monthly mobile data consumption per person has reached 53 GB, a figure approximately three times the global average. Additionally, the median download speed on 5G networks was recorded at 320 Mbps, with a median latency of 24 milliseconds, reflecting the ongoing expansion of high-speed connectivity across the region.

In the fixed internet sector, the report shows a marked improvement in service quality. Median download speeds for fixed connections increased to 151 Mbps, compared to 120.4 Mbps the previous year, while median upload speeds reached 73 Mbps with a latency of 8 milliseconds. These figures underscore the Kingdom's strategic investment in digital transformation and telecommunications capacity, which remains a key pillar of its broader economic development goals.
