According to a report released by the Saudi Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), Saudi Arabia has seen a significant boost in digital infrastructure performance. The fifth edition of the 'Saudi Internet' report indicates an 89 percent improvement in latency rates for popular electronic games, a development aimed at enhancing the quality of service for the Kingdom's growing gaming community.
The CST data highlights that several major titles now experience low latency, with Teamfight Tactics and League of Legends reaching 11 milliseconds, and Mobile Legends reaching 12 milliseconds. The report also provides a breakdown of gaming habits in the region, noting that smart devices are the most popular platform at 22.1 percent, followed closely by PlayStation at 21.8 percent. Weekly gaming remains the most common frequency, reported by 32.1 percent of users.
Beyond the gaming sector, the report underscores the rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) in Saudi Arabia. The commission confirmed that the number of IoT subscriptions has reached 13.85 million. Furthermore, the report notes that urban population coverage using Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology has reached significant milestones, reflecting the Kingdom's broader strategy to digitize its infrastructure and support advanced connectivity across urban centers.
The report is based on official data released by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), which is the Saudi government's regulatory body for the sector. As an official government announcement regarding national infrastructure statistics, it meets the criteria for high-confidence verification.
