Saudi Arabia updates four tourism regulations covering travel, guides and hospitality

The Saudi Ministry of Tourism has officially announced updates to four key regulations governing the kingdom's tourism sector. These changes, which cover travel and tourism services, tourist guides, hospitality facilities, and private hospitality units, are part of a broader national strategy to enhance service quality and improve the overall visitor experience in line with Vision 2030 goals.

According to the Ministry, the regulatory updates are designed to accommodate the rapid expansion of the tourism industry and the emergence of new business models. The updated Travel and Tourism Services Regulation introduces simplified licensing categories and provides operators with greater flexibility regarding license duration and service offerings.

Furthermore, the Tourist Guide Regulation has been revised to allow guides to operate across multiple regions and specializations, removing previous geographical constraints. These measures are intended to professionalize the sector and ensure that service providers have clear guidelines regarding their rights and obligations.
