The September Pixel Drop improves the VIP contacts widget, adds Harry Potter themes

According to GSMArena, Google has begun the rollout of its September Pixel Drop, an update package introducing several new features and enhancements to its smartphone lineup. The update includes improvements to the VIP contacts widget, expanded availability for the 'Pause Point' feature on older device models, and enhanced scam protection tools for users.

In addition to functional updates, the release includes thematic content, such as new Harry Potter-themed elements to coincide with the release of the series' latest audiobooks. The update is available for Pixel devices ranging from the Pixel 6 series and newer, though the Pixel Tablet is excluded from this specific release cycle.

Google has indicated that the rollout will occur in stages. While the update process began today, the company noted that availability may vary depending on the user's region, language settings, and mobile carrier. Users with carrier-locked devices may experience a delay of several weeks before the update becomes available for their specific handsets.
