Traffic Campaigns Record More Than 33,000 Violations Across Kuwait

According to the Arab Times Kuwait, the General Directorate of Traffic in Kuwait has concluded a series of intensive security and traffic enforcement campaigns conducted across all governorates. The operations, which took place between August 10 and August 16, 2026, resulted in the documentation of more than 33,000 traffic violations.

The campaign was part of a broader effort by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior to enhance road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations. Authorities utilized both stationary checkpoints and mobile patrols to identify infractions, which included speeding, failure to wear seatbelts, and the use of mobile devices while driving. In addition to issuing citations, the directorate impounded several vehicles and referred a number of motorists to the traffic court for serious offenses.

These periodic enforcement drives are a standard component of Kuwait's strategy to reduce traffic accidents and manage congestion on major highways. The General Directorate of Traffic has indicated that such campaigns will continue indefinitely, emphasizing that the primary objective is to maintain public order and protect road users. Officials have urged all motorists to adhere strictly to traffic laws to avoid penalties and contribute to safer road conditions throughout the country.
