According to Vartha Bharati, a wild elephant has entered the premises of an engineering college in Ujire, Belthangady, prompting an urgent response from local forest department officials. The animal was spotted near the rear side of the college campus, situated in close proximity to both student hostels and a national highway.

Local authorities have been engaged in a continuous operation to drive the elephant back into the forest. Reports indicate that the animal has attempted to move toward the Ujire town area, leading officials to employ firecrackers and warning shots in an effort to deter it from entering more densely populated zones.

Forest department personnel remain on-site to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of the surrounding community. The incident has caused concern among local residents due to the proximity of the campus to both residential homes and major transit routes. Efforts to safely relocate the elephant away from the town center are ongoing.
