UK reaffirms solidarity with Saudi Arabia during call between foreign ministers

According to the Saudi Gazette, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a telephone conversation on Saturday with the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Edward Miliband. The discussion focused on current regional developments and the ongoing security challenges facing the Middle East.

During the call, Secretary Miliband expressed the United Kingdom's solidarity with Saudi Arabia in response to recent attacks launched by Houthi militias. The British official affirmed Saudi Arabia’s right to implement necessary measures to protect its national security and infrastructure, in accordance with international law. This diplomatic support comes as regional powers remain on high alert regarding the stability of critical maritime corridors.

Prince Faisal and Miliband also addressed the urgent need for coordinated international efforts to ensure the security and freedom of navigation in regional waterways. Both ministers emphasized that protecting global trade routes and supply chains from the repercussions of the current crisis is a shared priority for both nations, contributing to broader regional stability.
