According to a report by Vijayavani, officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department in Yadgiri, Karnataka, conducted a raid on a shop in Saidapur village on Friday, resulting in the seizure of 14.47 quintals of illegally stored ration food grains. The operation was carried out following credible information regarding the unauthorized stockpiling of government-subsidized supplies at the establishment owned by Raju Dodappanavar.

The raiding team was led by Taluk Food Shirastedar Mahesh, accompanied by Food Inspector Rajeshwari and Vithal Bandal. During the inspection, authorities confiscated 9.49 quintals of ration rice and 4.98 quintals of jowar. The seized items have been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation into the illegal diversion of public distribution system (PDS) goods.

Following the seizure, a formal case has been registered at the Saidapur police station. Local authorities have indicated that the investigation will focus on the source of the diverted grains and whether the shop was involved in a larger network of unauthorized ration distribution. Further legal proceedings against the shop owner are expected to follow as the police and food department continue their inquiry into the matter.
