A Boy, His Puppy and an Act of Love: True Hope Foundation Extends ₹1 Lakh Support to Ridip Panika’s Family

According to The Assam Tribune, a thirteen-year-old student named Ridip Panika has died in the ongoing flood crisis in Assam. The young boy, a Class 7 student at a local Model School in Bamun Pukhuri village, reportedly lost his life while attempting to rescue his three-month-old puppy, Borun, from strong flood currents. While the puppy was successfully saved, Ridip was unable to escape the rising waters.

In response to the tragedy, the True Hope Foundation has provided financial assistance of ₹1 lakh to the boy's parents, Deepak and Parbati Panika. The family, who lost their only child in the incident, has been severely impacted by the widespread flooding that has affected the region. This donation is intended to provide immediate support as the family navigates the loss and the broader destruction caused by the natural disaster.

Assam has been grappling with severe monsoon flooding, which frequently displaces thousands of residents and causes significant damage to infrastructure and livelihoods.
