According to a report by Asomiya Pratidin, suspected militants launched an attack on a Company Operating Base (COB) of the 21 Assam Rifles in Longvi Basti, located in the Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh. The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of August 15, at approximately 3:15 AM, coinciding with the lead-up to India's Independence Day celebrations.

Local authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding casualties or the identity of the militant group involved. However, the report indicates that the attackers fired multiple rounds, including the use of Lathode grenades, from a distance before retreating. Security forces have since initiated a search operation in the surrounding areas to track the perpetrators.

In response to the attack, a high alert has been declared in the neighboring Tinsukia district of Assam. Security measures have been intensified across the region to prevent further incidents as the state prepares for Independence Day commemorations.
