According to TV9 Kannada, the Chief Electoral Officer for Karnataka has announced a second extension for the state's Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral rolls. The deadline, which was previously moved from July 29 to August 8, has now been extended further to August 17 to accommodate ongoing public demand for more time to complete the registration and verification process.

State Chief Electoral Officer Anbukumar addressed a press conference to clarify the extension and respond to concerns regarding voter data accuracy. Reports have surfaced indicating that some citizens who submitted their verified enumeration forms to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have still found their names incorrectly categorized under the ASDDO list—a designation for voters who are marked as Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate, or Others.

The electoral office is currently working to address these discrepancies to ensure that eligible voters are not excluded from the final rolls. The extension is intended to provide sufficient time for the commission to rectify these administrative errors and allow citizens to complete their documentation. Residents are encouraged to check their status on the official portal and coordinate with their local BLOs to resolve any incorrect tagging before the new August 17 deadline.
