चमोली टनल हादसे में 6 मजदूरों की मौत, 14 घायल, 2 अभी-भी फंसे

According to reports from Aaj Tak, a significant industrial accident occurred at the THDC Vishnugad-Pipalkoti hydroelectric project in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The incident was triggered when a tunnel at the construction site was suddenly inundated with debris and water, trapping 22 workers inside.

Local authorities, including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), were immediately deployed to the site to conduct rescue operations. Officials confirmed that rescue teams were able to successfully extract 20 of the trapped laborers. However, the operation resulted in the confirmed deaths of six workers.

Reports indicate that two individuals remain trapped within the tunnel structure as search and rescue efforts continue. The Vishnugad-Pipalkoti project is a major infrastructure development in the region, and the incident has prompted concerns regarding safety protocols in high-risk construction zones. Further investigations are expected to determine the cause of the sudden debris flow and water ingress.
