चमोली टनल हादसे में 7 मजदूरों की मौत, 14 घायल, एक अभी-भी लापता

According to reports from Aaj Tak, a significant industrial accident occurred at the THDC Vishnu-Gad Pipalkoti hydroelectric project in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. A tunnel at the site was suddenly inundated with debris and water, trapping 22 workers inside. Local authorities, alongside teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), immediately launched a large-scale rescue operation to locate and extract the trapped individuals.

Officials confirmed that rescue teams successfully recovered 20 of the workers from the tunnel. However, the incident resulted in the deaths of seven laborers. One worker remains missing, and search efforts are continuing in the affected area to locate the individual. The site has been cordoned off as authorities begin an investigation into the cause of the sudden influx of debris and water.

The Vishnu-Gad Pipalkoti project is a major infrastructure development in the region, and the incident has raised concerns regarding safety protocols in high-risk construction zones within the Himalayas. Local administration officials have stated that the priority remains the search for the missing person and providing medical support to those who were injured during the collapse.
