Cuttack Ring Road expansion: Two key stretches to become six-lane roads

According to OTV, the Odisha government has officially approved tenders for the expansion of two critical stretches of the Cuttack Ring Road. The initiative aims to transition these segments into six-lane thoroughfares to alleviate the city's mounting traffic congestion, which has been exacerbated by rapid urbanization and an increasing volume of vehicles.

The two identified stretches for this infrastructure upgrade include the route from Bellview Square to Chahata and the path connecting Netaji Subhash Setu to Naraj via Brajabiharipur. The projects are estimated to cost approximately Rs 50 crore in total, with the Bellview Square to Chahata segment specifically allocated a budget of Rs 22.66 crore. Local authorities anticipate that these improvements will significantly enhance urban mobility and reduce the frequency of traffic-related accidents in the area.

This development is part of a broader effort by the state government to modernize Cuttack's transport network.
