दिल्ली में 8 दिन में महीने भर जितनी बारिश:राजस्थान-मध्यप्रदेश में आज भारी बारिश का अलर्ट, बारिश-लैंडस्लाइड से अमरनाथ यात्रा खत्म

According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, the national capital of Delhi has experienced significant rainfall, recording nearly its entire monthly average for August within the first eight days of the month. Meteorological data indicates that 98.7 millimeters of rain fell on Saturday alone, contributing to a total of 225.7 millimeters for the month so far, closely approaching the long-term monthly average of 233.1 millimeters. The India Meteorological Department has issued alerts for heavy rainfall across neighboring states, including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, as monsoon conditions remain active across the region.

In addition to the weather developments in the plains, the annual Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir has been curtailed. Authorities have decided to conclude the pilgrimage 20 days ahead of its original schedule due to persistent heavy rainfall and the resulting risk of landslides along the mountainous routes. Officials confirmed that while no new groups of pilgrims will be permitted to begin the journey, those currently en route will be assisted in completing their visit to the holy cave. To date, over 480,000 devotees have successfully completed the pilgrimage this season.

The heavy rainfall has caused widespread disruption, with local authorities monitoring the situation closely as monsoon clouds continue to impact northern and central India. The decision to halt the Amarnath Yatra reflects ongoing safety concerns regarding the stability of the terrain following the intense precipitation. Residents and travelers in the affected states have been advised to remain cautious as weather agencies continue to track the movement of the monsoon system.
