According to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, a depression currently active over Jharkhand and adjacent Gangetic West Bengal is expected to influence weather patterns across Odisha. Meteorological officials noted that as of Friday morning, the system was centered near Ranchi, though it is projected to weaken into a low-pressure area by Saturday.

Despite the weakening of the system, the regional weather office has issued a yellow warning for several districts in Odisha, anticipating continued heavy rainfall over the next 24 to 48 hours. Director of the Regional Meteorological Centre, Manorama Mohanty, confirmed that the state should remain prepared for inclement weather conditions as the system moves through the region.

Local authorities have advised residents in the affected districts to remain vigilant as the weather system transitions. While the intensity of the depression is expected to decrease, the lingering effects of the low-pressure area are likely to bring significant precipitation to various parts of the state through August 18.
