According to Asianet News, local law enforcement in Ernakulam has successfully apprehended two individuals as part of a targeted operation referred to as 'Operation Steel Bird.' The primary suspect, identified as Kaikkuru Ragesh, is reportedly linked to approximately 60 criminal cases. Authorities noted that Ragesh had been released from a prison in Karnataka at the end of June following his involvement in a highway robbery case.

Alongside Ragesh, police also took into custody an associate named Jugal. According to the report, Jugal is currently facing charges in 11 separate criminal cases. Officials have confirmed that Jugal had previously been served with a detention order under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA), which included a directive for his exile from the district.

The arrests mark a significant development in local efforts to curb organized criminal activity in the region. Police have not yet released further details regarding the specific charges leading to the current arrests, but the operation highlights ongoing efforts by the Ernakulam police to track and detain repeat offenders who have been active across state lines.
