झारखंड में बिजली गिरने से 14 मौतें, 8 घायल:हिमाचल-उत्तराखंड में बारिश-लैंडस्लाइड से 252 सड़कें बंद; केरल में 4 दिन में 25 लोगों की जान गई

According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, severe monsoon weather has resulted in significant casualties and infrastructure disruption across several Indian states. In Jharkhand, lightning strikes on Tuesday reportedly claimed the lives of 14 people, with an additional 8 individuals sustaining injuries. The fatalities were concentrated in the districts of Giridih, Dumka, and Latehar.

Simultaneously, the state of Kerala is grappling with the aftermath of intense rainfall that began on August 1. Local authorities report that 25 people have lost their lives due to weather-related incidents over the past four days, with four others currently listed as missing. The flooding has necessitated the evacuation of thousands, with over 18,000 people currently housed in government-run relief camps. The districts of Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Alappuzha have been identified as the most severely affected areas.

Further north, heavy rains and subsequent landslides have disrupted transportation networks in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Reports indicate that 252 roads remain closed across the two states, including 153 in Himachal Pradesh and 99 in Uttarakhand. In response to the hazardous conditions, authorities in the Uttarakhand districts of Dehradun and Bageshwar have declared a holiday for all schools up to the 12th grade. Emergency services continue to monitor the situation as monsoon conditions persist across the region.
