According to Polimer News, a woman was apprehended by fellow passengers after allegedly attempting to steal a purse from a co-passenger on a government bus in Kulachal, Kanyakumari district. The suspect, who was traveling with an infant, reportedly attempted to deny the theft when confronted by the victim and other passengers on the bus.

Witnesses at the scene reported that the woman attempted to flee the vehicle once the theft was discovered. However, passengers managed to intercept her before she could escape. Following the confrontation, the woman was detained by the public and subsequently handed over to the local police for further investigation.

Incidents of petty theft on public transport remain a concern in the region, often leading to immediate intervention by commuters. Local authorities are currently processing the case to determine the extent of the alleged criminal activity and to address the security concerns raised by the incident.
