King orders Cabinet reshuffle under Crown Prince, retains current ministers

According to the Saudi Gazette, King Salman of Saudi Arabia has issued a series of royal decrees formalizing a reshuffle of the Council of Ministers. The Council will continue to operate under the chairmanship of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, while the current ministerial members remain in their respective positions. The decision follows a formal review of the Cabinet Law, specifically Article 9, which mandates that the Cabinet’s term shall not exceed four years, necessitating a periodic reshuffle by royal decree.

In addition to the Cabinet restructuring, the King announced changes to key leadership roles within national authorities. Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman has been appointed as the chairman of the Board of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, succeeding Bandar Alkhorayef. Furthermore, Mazen Al-Sudairi has been named the new chairman of the Capital Market Authority, replacing Mohammed Al-Quwaiz. The appointment of Al-Sudairi carries the rank of a minister.

These administrative adjustments are part of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to align its governance structures with long-term national objectives. By rotating leadership within these critical economic and regulatory bodies, the Saudi government aims to maintain institutional efficiency and oversight. The decrees take effect immediately, marking a continuation of the administrative processes established under the current leadership framework.
