According to Vartha Bharati, Jadiyappa Gedlagatti, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations, emphasized the importance of preserving local art and culture for future generations during a recent event in Kalaburagi. Speaking at the Kannada Sahitya Parishat Suvarna Sabha Bhavan, Gedlagatti noted that while promoting the arts is valuable, the primary responsibility of citizens and artists today is the active preservation of regional traditions.

The event was organized jointly by the Sri Sai Jana Jagruthi Kala Sangha and the Department of Kannada and Culture. During his inaugural address, Gedlagatti highlighted the ongoing efforts of the state government to support cultural heritage. He cited initiatives such as street theater, musical programs, and the promotion of folk arts at the rural level as key components of the government's strategy to keep traditional art forms vibrant.

Reflecting on the historical context of regional culture, Gedlagatti recalled how, in previous generations, local artists who performed devotional songs and traditional folk music were integral figures in every village.
