According to Dharitri, a district court in Kalahandi, Odisha, has delivered a verdict in a murder case dating back to 2014. District and Sessions Judge Anup Ranjan Patnaik found the accused, identified as Bibishan Patra of Kutrupala village, guilty of murder following a trial that involved the examination of 17 witnesses and various pieces of evidence.

The court sentenced Patra to life imprisonment for his role in the crime, which occurred within the jurisdiction of the M. Rampur police station. In addition to the prison sentence, the court imposed a fine of 10,000 rupees on the convicted individual.
