According to a report from the regional news outlet Sambad, a significant theft occurred at a residence in the Sanjay Gandhi Colony of Paralakhemundi, located in the Gajapati district of Odisha. The homeowner, identified as S. Santoshini, reported that her house was burglarized while she was away on a trip to Visakhapatnam.

Local authorities were alerted to the incident on Saturday morning after neighbors noticed that the locks on the front door had been broken. Upon her return to the city that evening, the homeowner filed a formal complaint at the Paralakhemundi Adarsha Police Station. The complaint alleges that the intruders made off with 5.5 lakh rupees in cash, along with seven bhari of gold and various silver items.

The Paralakhemundi police have initiated an investigation into the burglary. As of now, officials are reviewing the scene and gathering evidence to identify the suspects involved in the break-in. No arrests have been announced at this stage of the investigation.
