According to Polimer News, a Special Assistant Sub-Inspector (SSI) named Sumathi has been removed from the 'Singappen' (Lioness) task force following a controversial speech delivered at a government school in Ariyalur. The incident reportedly occurred on July 22 during an awareness program conducted by the task force for students.

During the event, Sumathi allegedly warned students that they would face imprisonment under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act if they engaged in conversations or sent messages containing terms like 'HAI' to girls under the age of 18. The video of these remarks subsequently circulated on social media, drawing criticism for the tone and content of the officer's address to the students.

Following the viral spread of the video, authorities have taken administrative action against the officer. Sumathi has been removed from her position within the Singappen task force and has been reassigned to the Ariyalur police station, where she was previously posted. The incident has sparked a local discussion regarding the appropriate methods for law enforcement to conduct awareness campaigns in educational institutions.
