Makkah Border Guard rescue 2 Bangladeshis stranded at sea

Search and rescue teams from the Saudi Border Guard in the Rabigh area of the Makkah region successfully rescued two Bangladeshi residents who had become stranded at sea. According to the Saudi Gazette, the individuals required assistance after their vessel experienced a mechanical breakdown, leaving them unable to return to shore.

Following the rescue, the General Directorate of Border Guard issued a reminder to all sea users regarding the importance of maritime safety. Authorities emphasized the necessity of verifying the seaworthiness of vessels and ensuring all safety equipment is functional before departing from the coast. These measures are intended to prevent similar incidents and ensure the safety of those navigating regional waters.

In the event of a maritime emergency, the Directorate urged the public to utilize designated emergency contact numbers. Residents and visitors in the Makkah, Madinah, and Eastern Province regions are advised to dial 911, while those in other parts of the Kingdom should contact 994. These services are available to provide immediate assistance to anyone facing distress while at sea.
