Dr. Yaragal is reported to be the niece of local Congress MLA Umesh Meti. The dismissal follows allegations that she held a government position while simultaneously pursuing postgraduate medical studies at a private college.

Authorities are currently investigating claims that Dr. Yaragal was drawing a monthly salary of 70,000 rupees despite failing to fulfill her professional duties at the clinic.
