ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನಾಯಕಿ ಸೋನಿಯಾ ಗಾಂಧಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ದೂರು

According to a report by Vartha Bharati, a formal police complaint has been filed against Congress leader Sonia Gandhi in Mangaluru, Karnataka. The complaint, lodged by local BJP leader Vikas Puttur at the Urwa police station, alleges that Gandhi instructed for the national song 'Vande Mataram' to be stopped midway during an Independence Day event held at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi.

The complainant argues that 'Vande Mataram' holds significant historical importance in the Indian freedom struggle and should be accorded the same level of respect as the national anthem, 'Jana Gana Mana'. The petition filed by the BJP leader seeks legal action against Gandhi, citing the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, as well as relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, alleging that her actions constituted an insult to national symbols.

Accompanying the complainant during the filing of the report were other local BJP leaders, including Rajagopal Rai, Bharat Raj Krishnapura, and Ramesh Hegde. As of now, there has been no official response from the Congress party regarding these allegations, and the police have not yet announced any formal investigation or registration of an FIR based on the complaint.
