Opaz Chairman receives Qatari Minister of Commerce, Industry

Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz), held a formal meeting this Thursday with the Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry. The discussion, held at the Opaz headquarters in Muscat, focused on strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and exploring new avenues for investment between the two nations.

According to reports from the Times of Oman, the meeting served as a platform to exchange expertise regarding the management and development of special economic zones. Both parties reviewed existing trade relations and discussed strategies to facilitate increased private sector participation in the free zones of both Oman and Qatar. The dialogue is part of a broader effort by the Sultanate to bolster its economic ties within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Such meetings are frequent occurrences in the region as Oman continues to promote its special economic zones as hubs for international logistics and manufacturing.
