According to Dharitri, thousands of devotees gathered along the banks of the Rusikulya River near Damodarpur village in the Ganjam district of Odisha to mark the first Monday of the holy month of Shravan. The pilgrims, known as Bol Bam devotees or 'Kaudias', arrived from various regions to perform traditional rituals and offer water to Lord Shiva.

As part of the annual observance, the devotees, dressed in saffron attire, established temporary Shiva lingams in the river sand to conduct prayers. The gathering is a significant cultural event in the region, reflecting the deep-seated religious traditions associated with the Shravan month, during which followers undertake pilgrimages to sacred water bodies to seek blessings and fulfill vows.

Local authorities and community members typically oversee such gatherings to manage the large influx of pilgrims. The event highlights the continued importance of these traditional practices in rural Odisha, where thousands of participants congregate annually at riverbanks to participate in the Jalabhishek rituals. No incidents or disruptions were reported during the gathering, which proceeded according to established local customs.
