Rape accused who escaped from Bhubaneswar women’s police station arrested in Bengaluru

According to OTV, a rape accused who had escaped from the Women’s Police Station in Bhubaneswar has been apprehended by the Commissionerate Police in Bengaluru. The individual, a resident of the Bhadrak district, reportedly managed to evade custody under the pretext of leaving the station to have breakfast.

Following the escape, local authorities at the Capital Police Station in Bhubaneswar registered a case and initiated a formal investigation. A specialized police team was assembled to track the suspect's movements across state lines. The operation concluded successfully within 24 hours, with the suspect being located and detained in Bengaluru.

The accused has since been transported back to Bhubaneswar to face further legal proceedings. Authorities are expected to conduct intensive questioning regarding both the original rape charges and the circumstances surrounding his escape from police custody. The incident has prompted a review of security protocols at the local station to prevent similar lapses in the future.
