According to Vartha Bharati, a pointsman at the Surathkal railway station in Karnataka successfully rescued an elderly man who had fallen while attempting to board a moving train on Monday. The incident occurred as the train, traveling from Mumbai toward Mangaluru, was departing the station.

Reports indicate that the elderly passenger had stepped off the train to visit a stall on the platform. When the train began to move, he attempted to re-board while carrying items he had purchased. During this attempt, he lost his footing and slipped into the gap between the platform and the tracks, placing him in immediate danger of being struck by the train's wheels.

Sandeep Nayak, a pointsman on duty at the platform, witnessed the fall and intervened immediately. He managed to pull the man to safety before he could be caught by the moving carriages. The swift actions of the railway employee have been noted by local officials and the public, highlighting the ongoing safety efforts at the station.
