The 2026 Jameel Deep Technology Initiative concludes its semi-final stage

According to the Saudi Gazette, Community Jameel Saudi has successfully concluded the semi-final stage of the second edition of the Jameel DeepTech Initiative. The event, held at The Garage incubator in Riyadh, was conducted in partnership with the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) to identify and support high-potential research-based ventures.

Thirty-three teams were selected to compete in this stage, chosen from a pool of 900 applicants. This represents a significant increase in interest compared to the inaugural edition, which saw 30 teams compete from a total of 234 applicants. The initiative focuses on fostering innovation in critical sectors including health, energy, and environmental sustainability, aligning with the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The participating teams are now vying for a spot in the final round of the competition. The three eventual winners will share a total prize pool of SAR 2,250,000, intended to help scale their scientific breakthroughs into viable commercial startups. By providing mentorship and resources, the initiative aims to build a robust ecosystem for deep technology entrepreneurs within the Kingdom.
