According to reports from Dainik Bhaskar, heavy monsoon rainfall has triggered widespread flooding across parts of Northern India, leading to significant infrastructure disruption. In Uttarakhand, authorities have reported that six major rivers, including the Alaknanda, Mandakini, and Bhagirathi, are flowing at or above danger levels. The severe weather has forced the closure of 132 roads, including critical national highways connecting Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, while schools in districts such as Dehradun, Chamoli, and Bageshwar remain closed as a precautionary measure.

The impact of the monsoon has extended into neighboring Uttar Pradesh, where rising water levels have affected numerous rural communities. Reports indicate that floodwaters have entered 33 villages and 40 government schools, with the Ganges river in Farrukhabad nearing the danger mark. In Ballia, local officials are monitoring the situation as the Saryu river continues to erode riverbanks, reportedly causing 27 homes to be submerged over the past week.

Meanwhile, in the National Capital Region, heavy rainfall on Thursday caused significant waterlogging, resulting in major traffic congestion on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway and other arterial roads. Local authorities are currently conducting a search and rescue operation in Dwarka Sector-25, where a youth reportedly fell into an open drain during the downpour. Despite a seven-hour search effort, the individual remains missing. Residents in affected areas have been advised to exercise caution as meteorological departments continue to monitor the monsoon's progression across the region.
