Heavy monsoon rainfall continues to impact several states across northern and central India, leading to significant infrastructure damage and loss of life. According to reports from Dainik Bhaskar, Uttarakhand has faced three consecutive days of intense precipitation, resulting in 12 fatalities and the closure of 172 roads. Authorities have issued orange alerts for districts including Nainital, Bageshwar, and Dehradun, while schools and childcare centers have been shuttered in five districts as a precautionary measure.

In neighboring Bihar, the flood risk has escalated as the Ganga and Punpun rivers have risen above danger levels. Residents in Patna have faced severe waterlogging following persistent morning rains, and reports indicate that a century-old Durga temple in Bhagalpur has been lost to riverbank erosion. Meanwhile, in Uttar Pradesh, the impact of the weather system has been equally severe; two individuals died in Sitapur following a wall collapse, and local infrastructure has suffered, with reports of a significant breach in the Ganga Expressway in Unnao.

State officials in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are currently monitoring water levels as thousands remain affected by the rising floodwaters. The meteorological department has also noted an active monsoon system over the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh, where heavy rains have led to localized flooding, including reports of submerged commercial areas in Chitrakoot. Emergency response teams remain on standby in the affected regions to manage ongoing rescue operations and provide relief to displaced populations.
